Valley Raceway has been a staple in the dirt stock car racing community since 2012. Our passion for motorsports drives us to provide thrilling experiences for both racers and fans alike.

General: There will be zero tolerance regarding alcohol, drugs, or pets anywhere on the premises of Valley Raceway. Absolutely no children aged 12 and under in the pit area before, during and after race events. Any fighting or physical abuse of any kind will not be tolerated. If you have a disagreement, discuss it with an official. Disregarding this rule may result in being asked to leave the premises and/or be escorted by RCMP if necessary. There will be no “Lucky Dog” awarded. Flags: GREEN- Passing at the start of the race will not begin until the green flag drops. The polesitter may not be passed until he/she passes under the starter’s stand. YELLOW - If a yellow flag is displayed, racers must slow down immediately and await further instructions. Anyone continuing at racing speed after a yellow flag and light are shown may be penalized. Yellow flag laps do not count toward lap totals. RED - If a red flag is displayed, all drivers must come to a complete stop as soon as practical
Drivers Under 16 Years of Age:
Any person under age 16, who is planning to race at Valley Raceway, must have a waiver signed by both parents or a legal guardian. The signing of this waiver by both parents or a legal guardian must be witnessed by a Valley Raceway staff member. No person under 16 is allowed on the track without a signed waiver. No signed waiver, no practice, no race.
This applies to all potential races under 16 - No Exceptions!
Rules Updates:
Fibreglass hoods are now permitted in all classes. Screen windshields are now permitted; metal must be 1/8th inch thickness, with a maximum hole size of 1 inch. Must be securely installed. A full-face helmet is mandatory when running a screen windshield.
Rules Applicable to all Vehicles Participating in Events at Valley Raceway:
Immediately after each feature race, the top 3 vehicles must proceed directly to tech inspection. Failure to do so will result in loss of points and/or payouts for that day.
Kill Switch:
All vehicles are required to have one master kill switch that is accessible from the outside of the vehicle. This must kill the entire electrical system.
This must be installed in the center of the dash or on top of the “dog house”
Roll Cage:
A 6-point roll cage made of seamless 1.66 inch diameter with 0.095 wall thickness is mandatory.
The roll cage must consist of 4 vertical upright bars connected to the halo on all sides.
A shoulder height crossbar must support the rear vertical uprights. Three horizontal bars are required on the left side door area and two on the right side (these are minimum numbers).
A horizontal barat dash height must extend across the front uprights. Bars may be mounted to the rear end of the top halo and extended to the rear strut towers. These may be extended to the rear of the vehicle and can be “X-braced”.
There must be a steel upright in the center of the windshield, going from top to bottom.
1/8th steel plate or other approved method must be used to mount the cage to the body.
Roll cage must run the full width of the frame, rocker panel to rocker panel.
Driver’s door inner panels may be cut to fit roll cage door bars. No sharp edges. All joints must be completely welded.
Brakes:
All vehicles must have stock, properly working brakes for all four wheels.
Harness:
A minimum 5-point harness is mandatory.
Must be worn whenever the vehicle is on the track. Must be in good condition, cannot be worn or frayed. Must be fastened to the roll bar at shoulder height.
No tying, riveting or any other method, other than proper attachment, is acceptable.
Drivers are responsible to insure all safety equipment is in good condition and securely installed.
Helmets:
Must be a Snell approved helmet.
Must be free of cracks, and must accompany vehicle at the time of inspection.
Must be worn and properly secured at all times before entering the track.
Neck Brace:
An SFI head and neck restraint is mandatory.
Fire Extinguisher:
A securely mounted, easily removed (quick release) fire extinguisher with gauge showing “Full” is mandatory.
Bracket securing extinguisher must be metal. No plastic brackets are permitted.
Window Nets:
Driver’s side window net with properly working quick release, mounted at the top left side, is mandatory.
Must be in good condition, not worn or frayed.-
Fire Suits:
A fire resistant rated fire suit, top and bottom, is mandatory and must be worn at all times while on the track.
Body:
All glass, headlights, taillights and side marker lights must be removed except for the windshield.
Stock glass windshield is permitted. Lexan windshield permitted with proof of purchase.
Full windshield opening must be covered and be secured with screws of rivets spaced out at a maximum of 6 inches apart.
Doors must be welded or bolted shut.
All vehicles must begin each race with a complete body - hood, doors, fenders, trunk, etc.
Added weight or ballast is permitted but must be securely bolted down.
The track reserves the right to impose a minimum requirement rule at any time. Drivers will be given adequate time to meet requirements.
Listening Devices:
Race receivers are mandatory.
Numbers:
Numbers must be 18 inches high and located on both doors and roof. Must be readable from the grandstands. A 6-inch number is required on top right side corner of windshield.
Must be high contrast. Recommended white on dark surfaces or dark on light surfaces. Numbers deemed too difficult for officials to see for scoring purposes will have owners notified and expected to make necessary changes. Failure to do so could result in a refusal to be scored.
Maximum 2-digit numbers only.

Check to make sure your number is not already taken before numbering your race vehicle.
Vehicle Weigh-In:
Any race vehicle at any time may be asked to be weighed.
Weight will not include the driver.
Failure to meet weight requirements will result in loss of points and winnings.
Safety:
Any issues with safety compliance, i.e roll cage, frame, brakes, harness ect. will result in the vehicle being parked until rectified.
Roll Over:
After a roll over, the driver must be checked by track medical care giver and given clearance to continue to race.
Any vehicle involved in a roll over must be inspected by tech and deemed safe to continue to race.
Overview:
Refusal of any request on a technical issue will result in the driver automatically forfeiting points and winnings and may be bumped up or parked.
Whereas most safety concerns are major issues, make sure your vehicle is race ready and conforms to all safety rules.
Failure to meet or pass these rules will result in not being permitted to race until all safety standards (roll cage, breaks, Snell approved helmet, fuel cells, receivers, etc.) are in compliance.
NO EXCEPTIONS
Approved Models:
Must have a complete stock body, frame and suspension.
Cars may be front or rear wheel drive, with a standard or automatic transmission up to a maximum of a 2.2Lt engine.
Naturally aspirated, no nitrous, must run on regular pump gas.
Honda: No V-Tech motors
Dodge: No R/T’s
Chev: No SS models
Toyota: No S types
Ford: No RS types

Bumper:
Stock rear and front bumpers must remain.
One 2” pipe or tubing maximum thickness 0.095 may be added, but must remain under stock bumper covers.
Tow Hooks:
Hooks are required in the centre of the front and rear bumpers. May consist of chain or steel hook, large enough to receive a tow hook. MUST BE fastened to a sturdy structure.
Drive Train & Components:
All steering components, shocks, struts, etc... must remain stock. Wheelbase must remain the same on both sides. Ride height will remain the same side to side, front to back.
Starting & Charging System:
Must be operational. Alternators must remain, and be operating. Stock will be interpreted to mean regular models, not sport, GT, rally, or any other special edition or performance based enhanced models. No alterations of any kind.
Engine:
Engine, transmission (automatic or standard), and rear end must remain stock. No weight modifications, All new fuel injected cars being built for the 2023 season must have working OBD2 system with VIN#. Any questions contact Dave Leonard 902-824-5562. Engines must match model of car; ie. Honda with Honda, Dodge with Dodge ect. Maximum of 150 horse power.
Exhaust:
A single stock size exhaust pipe (Max 2.5”) must be attached to the stock manifold and remain the same size. Exhaust must point away from fuel tank.
Floor:
Floor must be complete and in tact. All holes must be covered with stock thickness metal.
Gas Tank:
If original gas tank is ahead of the back of the rear wheels, it must remain and be used, and must have a steel skid plate. Fuel cells optional.
Hood:
Full stock hood. Secured by pin (one on each corner - mandatory) optional all four corners. All insulation under hood must be removed.,
Battery:
The battery can be located anywhere ahead of the front firewall and under the hod or if mounted inside car must be securely bolted down.
Interior:
Stock dash optional, gear shift, pedals and driver’s seat must remain. Stock steering shaft must remain. Aftermarket oil pressure and heat gauges are permitted. Roof insulation, floor covering and rear seat must be removed. All flammable material must be removed.
Seat:
Seat must be bolted to roll bar to prevent back of seat from going forward or backward. Aluminum racing seats are permitted and must be bolted to shoulder height cross pipe of roll bar. 5-point harness mandatory. Harness must be securely fastened.
Mirror:
One driver’s side mirror will be permitted with a maximum measurement of four inches at any given spot. Must not extend pass body.
Numbers:
Numbers must be 18 inches high on both doors, roof and be readable from grandstands. Recommended white on dark surfaces or dark on light surfaces. Required 6 inch number on top passenger side corner of windshield. No profanity of any kind on cars. Maximum 2 digit numbers only. Numbers deemed too difficult to see by the officials for scoring purposes will be notified and expected to make necessary changes. Failure to do so could result in a refusal to honour any scoring. Anyone requiring a number can contact Greg at 902-765-0974. Make sure numbers are not taken before adding your numbers to the car.
Radiators:
No antifreeze.
Cars considered by Valley Raceway officials to have altered components, could be subject to rejection or disqualification based on officials decisions.
Approved Models:

Harness must be securely fastened.
Mirror:
One driver’s side mirror will be permitted with a maximum measurement of four inches at any given spot. Must not extend past body.

Make sure numbers are not taken before adding your numbers to your car.
Radiators:
No antifreeze. Two radiators are permitted.
Second rad must be safely located away from driver.
Tires & Wheels:
All season, all winter tires permitted. Can strengthen stock rims with rebar.
Race rims permitted. Cut tires permitted.
No bead locks.
Aftermarket nut recommended for both front wheels (optional for back as well)
Trunk:
Full trunk, bracing and hinges must remain. Rear hatch must remain.
A quick hold down or fast trunk entry must be devised.
Body:
All chrome mouldings, ornaments, door handles, glass, tail lights, head lights or plastic components must be removed.
Windshield must remain or have lexan with proof of purchase.
No plexiglass.
Cars must have steel plate on the outside of the pipes that go through the driver’s door.
The steel should be the thickness of an oil barrel. 1/8th or thicker.
Engine rules:
New car models now permitted. Grand Marquis, Crown Victoria, 4.6lt engines. Must remain stock, only change permitted is you may use a washable air filter, which must fit into the air box, no other holes permitted in the air box.
All fuel injected engines must have a working OBD2 system with VIN #.
All engines must match the model of car; ie: Ford with Ford, Chev with Chev ect..
No aftermarket parts permitted.
No GM performance, Bowtie, SVO, Ford Motorsport, Mopar performance, Mercuser or Volvo etc..
No marine parts, unless specified in the rules.
All parts must remain stock mass produced.
For 305 engines, the only cylinder head numbers permitted are as follows: 14014416, 354434.
The only centre bolt head permitted is 14101081.
Any North American made motors are 1975-86, engine block can be 1975 and newer.
Body:
No two seater sport cars, no four wheel drive cars, no front wheel drive.
Entire body must remain as complete and stock as possible.
Plastic nose fronts and rear are permitted.
Fender well may be cut out for tire clearance only.
Full front firewalls must remain stock. Uni-body cars must have front and rear connected with 2”x2” tubing.
Rear window shelf must be sealed off from the drivers compartment.
All doors must be welded shut.
Front windshield must remain in decent condition, factory or lexan, no plexiglass.
Mud flaps are mandatory, and must not be any higher than 3” of level ground.
Trunk floor may be altered from behind the rear firewall.
Aftermarket body panels may be used.
All cars must have a steel plate on the outside of the pipes, going through the drivers door.
Plates should be the thickness of an oil barrel.
Chassis and Suspension:
No altering of frames for any reason. Frames can be reinforced, the rear frame section can be replaced or repaired from the centre of the rear-end housing back.
No altering of the chassis or suspension design or location.
No setting back engine / transmission. Engine must sit in stock location for model of vehicle.
Springs must be stock and remain in stock location, springs must match coil for coil, leaf for leaf ect..
One shock per wheel, no racing shocks or springs.
Shocks may be remounted to non-shock location, but suspension parts may not be cut or altered in any way. Standard aftermarket A-arms permitted.
Any stock production rear end permitted.
Minimum weight 3000lbs without driver.
No jack bolts, if you have them, they must be removed.
Suspension components may be reinforced for strength, but they cannot be redesigned.
Must be OEM design.
Tow Hooks:
Hooks are required in the centre of the front and rear bumpers.
May consist of chain or steel hook, large enough to receive a tow hook.
Must be fastened to a sturdy structure.
Tires and Wheels:
Tires must be DOT’s only. Any wheels permitted. Stock bolt pattern only.
Racing nuts on all wheels recommended. No bead locks.
Tire / Wheel cannot extend 2 1/2” pass quarter panel or fender.
No grooving or cutting tires.
Mud flaps mandatory.
Bumpers:
Must have stock front and rear bumpers.
All collapsible bumpers must be welded.
Any reinforcing must remain behind the grille and bumper area.
One nerf bar (rub rail) is acceptable, not higher than 18” from the ground with 1” tolerance.
Must not stick out past hte tire and no bigger than 1 1/2” with no sharp edges.
Must be flush with body, turn in at the ends (rub rails is not a body measurement for tire/wheel rule).
Transmission:
Stock manual or automatic transmission, no altering of any kind. Must be mounted in the stock location using stock mounts. Stock clutch assembly only with steel flywheel. Clutch disc and flywheel must be for the size engine being used. Plating covering transmission tunnel 1/8”.
Stock torque converts only, must be for that size engine being used, fluids must be retained in the torque converter.
Transmission cooler will be permitted, but must be mounted in a safe location outside drivers compartment.
All cars must have reverse gear in working order.
Numbers:
Numbers must be 18 inches high on both doors, roof and readable from grandstands.
Recommended white on dark surfaces or dark on light surfaces.
Required 6 inch number on top passenger side corner of windshield.
No profanity of any kind on cars.
Maximum 2 digit numbers only.

2024 Revised rules:
-4.8 LS motors are permitted.
-They have to pull 18inches of vacuum, fuel injected or carbureted.
-Will allow LS carbureted conversion with msd box number 6014 or6014 CT.
This is the only msd box permitted.
Approved Models:
Rear wheel cars only.
Must have complete body train and chassis.
Naturally aspirated, no turbos or superchargers.
Must run on pump gas. No exceptions. No aviation fuel, no power addives, etc.
No protruding pipes, bars, etc. beyond the bodywork of the car.
Drive train to be in factory location.
No carbs or fuel injection systems to protrude out of the hood.
Any engine, chassis, drive train permitted that meets safety regulations allowed.
Number one spark plug (centre of spark plug hole) cannot be any further than 2” behind upper ball joint.
Vehicles must weigh a minimum of 3,000 pounds without driver.
Tires:
Both All-season and winter tires are permitted. Must be DOT approved.
Strengthening of stock rims with rebar is permitted.
Race rims permitted.
No bead locks.
Aftermarket lug nuts recommended for all wheels.
Race Numbers:
Numbers must be a minimum 18” high on both doors and roof. Must be readable from grandstands.
Recommended white on dark surfaces or dark on light surfaces.
Mandatory 6” number on top-right side corner of windshield in contrasting color.
Maximum 2-digit numbers only.
Numbers too difficult to see by officials for scoring purposes will result in notification and a request to make necessary changes. Failure to do so could result in vehicle not being scored. No profanity of any kind using letters or numbers anywhere on race vehicles will not be tolerated
Tow Hooks:
Tow Hooks are mandatory and should be placed in center of both front and rear bumpers.
Must be securely mounted and capable of supporting the weight of the front or the rear of the vehicle.
May consist of chain or steel hook large enough to receive a tow hook.
Mirrors:
One driver’s side mirror is permitted. Maximum measurement of 4” at any given spot.
Must not extend outward past any part of the body.
Gas Tank:
Original gas tank is allowed if located forward of rear axel. Steel skid plate mandatory.
Fuel cells optional. Must be securely mounted.
Seats:
Seat must be securely bolted to horizontal cross bar running behind the seat. No movement of seat is permitted.
Aluminum racing seats permitted. Must be securely bolted to shoulder height cross bar of roll bar.
Interior:
Stock dash optional. Gear shift, pedals and driver's seat must remain.
Race seats recommended.
Aftermarket gauges permitted.
Roof liner and insulation, floor covering and rear seat must be removed.
Battery:
The battery may be located anywhere ahead of the front firewall and under the hood of the engine.
Mounting inside the vehicle is permitted. Must be inside a marine battery box, with both battery and battery box securely bolted down.
Hood:
Full hood. Must be secured be hood pins on all four corners.
All hood insulation must be removed.
Radiators:
No antifreeze permitted.
Vehicles considered by Valley Raceway officials to gave altered components could be subjected to rejection or disqualification, based on the direction of the officials. Decisions by track officials are final.
2024 revised rules
-No aftermarket transmissions
-Minimum weight 3000lbs, maximum3500lbs without driver.
-Pro stock chassis are permitted, but must follow all v8 modified rules.
These are the only changes for this class
